Sarap Ala Eh! brings every Juan the real “sarap” from Batangas through their distinct take on bona fide Batangueño fare—Batangasbulalo, goto, the ever-famous Batangaslomi and more.It infused not only its distinctive Batangueño taste to its menu offering but also the comic side of every Batangueñothrough its funny store design.
Sarap Ala Eh! was born at the busy municipality of San PascualBatangas. The idea was conceived during one of the many strolls in the area by Mr. Rey Lopez, owner of Sarap Ala Eh! Mr. Rey Lopez is a proud Mangyan, who has lived in Batangas all his life. An engineer by profession, his love for food as a Batangueño, inspired him to take Restaurant Management in theAteneo Graduate School. His first venture in food is the Son Miguel restaurant in the San Pascual area, a casual Filipino restaurant.
After trying a lot of local restaurants, he decided that his kababayans deserved better tasting Batangueño delicacies versus whatever is being offered around without being too costly for the budget of every Juan.Backed by his experience with Son Miguel, Mr. Lopez decided to put up Sarap Ala Eh which promotes Batangueño cuisine as the locals know it.
He believes that real Batangueño food should not just be about great taste but it is also a conveyor of the Batangueños’ distinct character and culture. Sarap Ala Eh! blends everything extraordinary about Batangas with their real, good food and humorous store ambience.
